The most important thing on your road learning how to gain self confidence is to achieve a winning habit. This can be done by doing the milestones little by little. In this way, you would be able to create a positive outlook on things that you can do. Consistency in achieving milestones will reinforce your positive thinking.
The power here refers to one’s Life Force Energy, the energy of life which has embodied within it all of ones positive resources some of which include self confidence, clarity and peace of mind, self esteem, self respect and an inner wisdom that supports and guides them constantly in the right direction. So it is a disconnection from this truth that leaves one feeling lost and unable to trust themselves i.e. self doubting.
If you are among those who lack confidence, then building self confidence should be your goal. Self confidence is very important and necessary if you want to survive in today’s society. Self confidence is needed in every field whether you are a sportsperson or a student. Building self confidence is necessary for both personality development as well as self-development. As said by a great personality “If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started”. It is very easy to lose confidence but very hard to build self-confidence. Everyone wants to be successful in their life which is possible only if they have faith in themselves.
Worry is evoked whenever some event occurs in daily life that has the potential of re-triggering old emotional pain stored within that is associated with some negative memory from the past.
There will be areas in your life in which you excel, and there will be other things that you do a lot better than most people. Learn to identify what you are good at and mentally give yourself credit- are you good at math? Does your cooking keep guests coming back for more? Are you the one people turn to when they need a problem solving? If you are struggling to think of anything, write down all the things you would love to try, and make a commitment to yourself to go ahead and do them!
Positive affirmations help change your negative thought patterns and habitual responses into more positive and self loving ones. The key is to notice when a negative thought comes up. Ask yourself if the thought makes you feel good. If it doesn’t, choose a better one by turning it around.
Entertain only positive self-talk. Be supportive, encouraging and caring about yourself and others. This makes you stronger and more thoughtful. Negative self-talk takes you down, deflates you and everyone around you while contributing to low self confidence.
Instead, set smaller achievable steps. For example, “Today I’m going to write 250 words about the past life of my book’s new character Jake”. It’s great to have writing ideas and aims like this but the problems come when we get too attached to them. Then, when our creative writing takes us elsewhere, instead of exploring what could be a wonderful new direction, we just feel we’ve failed in writing the piece we set out to write.
Positive affirmations help to improve your self image by changing the way you look and think about your appearance. The fundamental basis of using positive affirmations is that we create our thoughts and beliefs in life. These thoughts and beliefs then shape our responses to anything that happens. We need to understand that events in themselves have no meaning, only the interpretations we give to it. So if we have chosen hurtful thoughts such as ‘I am ugly’ in the past, we can just as easily choose to change them into ‘I am beautiful’.
And it’s possible, really possible, for anyone to be self-confident. In fact, when you look closely at those around you who ooze self-confidence, quite possibly the only reason they’re self-confident is the essence of learning how to gain self confidence.
